CPBC SPONSORHIP PROGRAM

Canada - Pakistan Business Council was founded in Montreal in 1983 as a "not for profit" and a "non-political" organization. In 1996 the head quarter was moved to Toronto. Since its inception it has come a long way and has supported the business members in promoting the bilateral trade. We have organized 14 trade missions to and from Pakistan, resulting in many success stories. The delegates included members of Parliament, Federal Ministers, leading bankers and businessmen.

The Council has also signed MOUs with:

1. Canadian Manufacturers & Exporters.
2. International Chamber of Commerce
3. Commonwealth Royal Society, Canada
4. Federation of Pakistan Chamber of Commerce and Council Industries

In order to take the Council to the next stage, we are offering several levels of sponsorships.

As part of the Council, it depends on where members would like to see this organization to be in years to come. We request that you support us as we soley dependent on the membership dues and rely on your gesture in helping CPBC achieve its goals.

CPBC encourages sponsorships; we do not receive any outside funding. With growing activities we now need further finances to meet our obligations for the office and administrative assistance. All our directors provide volunteer services to make this organization run smoothly and efficiently.

Royal Bank is Corporate Sponsor for CPBC On June 10", during the reception for H.E. Margaret Huber in Toronto, Royal Bank signed the agreement to become the corporate sponsor for CPBC. The Vice President, Mr. Naresh Karnick praised the efforts and the leadership role of the Council as a vibrant business organization and a strong force in the business community with whom they take pride in partnering. Andy Merchant thanked Royal Bank for its support and said that with this gesture, "we are no longer at the tarmac but are now airborne." RBC has seen CPBC grow over a number of years and has been a staunch supporter of the organization for many years. One of its directors, Mr. Imtiaz Seyid, had also traveled to Pakistan as a delegate with the trade mission organized by CPBC in 2002. Mr. Riaz Hashmi RBC is curently acting as the advisor to CPBC.
